Today's training

C really frustrated me today. She was getting into things around the house this morning and did not redeem herself when we trained later. She was full of excitement to enter the training facility, and ran around the room some while I got my things together, but did not buckle down and focus on her work as I expected when we started our heeling work. I switched treats, I did collar pops, I popped her on the butt, all to no avail. She seems to be going through a willful phase. I am working on moving from a walk to a trot, but she was flat today. I finally put her away.

Z gave me the "I'm tired, Mom" routine when we started, but though his work lacked pizazz, it was decent. Straight, focused go-out's with good, prompt sits. Weak articles with indecision about correct metal. Good signals. We're working on the two stand exercises, and they are coming along.

I was glad to be able to get out and work at all. I did a short walk in the neighborhood this morning, going a bit farther than in the past, and was also able to do a routine on the total gym this afternoon. I'm hoping my strength will build now that the last chemo round is behind me.
